History: Maus is was once a mythical creature that took the form of a tiger. His powers mostly manifested through his singing, which he used to create arcane effects. He stumbled upon the Napping Cat's Dream almost by mistake in his search for the soul of his long-departed lover.
After many adventures in the Dream he was able to release the trapped soul of his lover and find a new love: Tojiro Burton, who became a dimensional Avatar.
Maus had many dangerous and exciting adventures with his associates, but close to the end of the Dream the tiger was bereft of his love one more time, as Tojiro was absorbed into the essence of the multiverse and ceased to have an individual identity. Broken-hearted, the tiger departed the Dream.
When he finally reappeared, it was in the city of Alef in the employment of the eccentric nobleman Karl Friedrich Hieronymus, Baron von Münchhausen. It is unknown what befell Maus during his many adventures, but there are drastic changes that are unexplained: He has lost any mythic status and properties he once had, and he can no longer work magic. Whether this happened because of what befell Tojiro Burton, the end of the Dream, or some other reason, it is unknown.
